Do I Need To Take Supplements?

Do I need to take supplements to make me loose weight?

How will supplements help me?

Do I really need to spend money on supplements?

I get asked the types of questions very frequently, and trust me, I get it.

I post very frequently about the supplements that I take, and I know it has many wondering if they are what aided in my weight loss. I think we all look for the easy roads when it comes down to the things that we know take the most work, we’re only human. But let me be the first to tell you, there is NO supplement or magic pill that will make you loose weight.

It’s all in the name…”supplement.”

These products, that I’ve been using for 5 years, supplement my lifestyle. There would be no weight loss had I only taken these supplements and still had a crappy diet with zero exercise.

Diet and exercise are your magic pills. There is no easy way around it.

Now that we’ve debunked the myth of a magic weight loss pill, lets get into the reasons why I do take supplements and how they have helped me.

I don’t take a lot of supplements, I don’t see the need to do so. I take what I know will benefit me the most in my type of lifestyle. For me, I need daily vitamins to help with deficiencies, something to aid in gut health, protein that aids in faster recovery times and meal replacements when I’m on the go.

Everyone will be different when it comes to what they’ll need. Pre-workout, amino acids, creatine, protein, fish oils, the list goes on and on. It’s a bit overwhelming if you’re new to it and have no clue where to start.

On top of the overwhelming amount of products you can try, you also need to be willing to dish out a good amount of money. Supplements, at least the good quality ones, are expensive. It will be hard for those of you who are already tight as it is, but this is where you need to sit down and think about what you’re really looking to help supplement what you’re already doing.

Let’s take a look at myself for a second. I workout 4-5 times a week and that will be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour per session. I train in Crossfit and have been doing so for the past 5 years. My body takes a good beating from what I do. I really push my body to it’s limits, and because of that, I need my body to recover faster. I also have a 2 1/2 year old son who is just as much of a workout. I’m 30 and my main priority in life is to be as healthy as I can be, for as long as I can. I work around that.

My supplement routine consists of, Full Mega (omega 3’s), GI Advantage (digestive system repair, Post Workout Shake (builds muscle & aids in faster recovery), Protein (meal replacement), Opti Greens (gut health and immunity boost), and Opti Reds (powerful antioxidant and metabolism boost). These are the products that work (yes, they actually work) for me. This is how supplements aid in my current lifestyle of eating right and exercising regularly.

All products I take are from 1st Phorm.

Supplements can really be beneficial when you choose the right ones that will work with and for you. The changes I’ve seen have been tremendous, but I never give full credit to supplements alone. Everything, as a whole, is what made the change. The better food choices, the exercise, the sleep, the mental state and the supplements. Everything works together.

If you’re looking to start taking supplements, after you have already established a healthy diet and exercise routine, please feel free to reach out to me and I’ll be happy to help. I’m not here to sell you supplements, I’m here to educate you. Education is far more important than constantly trying to sell something.

That’s a big part of what is wrong in the supplement industry. There’s far too much pushing of an actual product and not enough education behind it.

Please feel free to contact me directly through my website ( or email me at if you need help with supplements or have any questions regarding them. I would be more than happy to help.

If you’re interested in checking out any of the products I take, you can find them here.

That direct link will get you free shipping on any 1st Phorm order should you choose to purchase.
